Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 14, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the SkillSpree app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Minyawi LLC (collectively, the "Application"). Minyawi LLC is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider."
Information We Collect
The Application collects the following information when you download and use it:
- Email address
- Display name and username
- Profile photo
- Apple ID or Google account information (used for sign-in)
- Camera access (used for profile photo capture)
- Skills completed, current skill, lesson progress, and streak data
- Friend list, friend requests, crew memberships, and group streak data
- Pro subscription status and consumable purchase history
- Expo push notification token (used to deliver push notifications)
- Device type and mobile operating system
- Time and date of app usage
- Advertising / Measurement Data (iOS, only if you allow tracking): the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and related advertiser identifiers used for ad measurement and personalization
- App Event Data shared with Meta for advertising measurement: app installs/activations and in-app conversion events (such as registration and purchases), which may be processed in aggregated or limited form when you decline tracking
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To track your learning progress and streaks
- To enable social features including friends, crews, and nudges
- To deliver push notifications for streak reminders and social activity
- To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions
- To measure advertising performance, attribute installs and in-app conversions, and (if you allow tracking) help deliver more relevant SkillSpree ads
- To send important notices and, where permitted by law, marketing communications
Advertising, Tracking, and App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
SkillSpree integrates the Meta (Facebook) SDK for advertising measurement and related analytics. On iOS 14.5 and later, we may ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before accessing the IDFA.
- If you allow tracking: we may share the IDFA and related advertiser identifiers with Meta so we can measure which ads led you to SkillSpree and improve ad relevance for SkillSpree campaigns.
- If you decline tracking (or later revoke it in iOS Settings): we do not use the IDFA for tracking. The Meta SDK may still receive limited, privacy-preserving measurement signals (such as Aggregated Event Measurement and SKAdNetwork) that do not rely on your IDFA. Core app features continue to work either way.
You can change tracking permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Third Party Services
The Application uses the following third-party services which have their own privacy policies:
- Firebase — authentication and database storage
- Google Sign-In — authentication
- RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management
- Expo — push notification delivery
- Meta (Facebook) — advertising measurement, attribution, and (when permitted) personalized ads via the Meta SDK
Meta's processing is also governed by Meta's terms and privacy policy. We configure the SDK to respect your ATT decision for advertiser ID collection.
Data Sharing
The Service Provider does not sell your personal data to third parties. Your information may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With trusted service providers who work on the Service Provider's behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations
- With advertising and measurement partners (Meta/Facebook) as described in the Advertising, Tracking, and App Tracking Transparency section above, subject to your ATT choice on iOS
- As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
- When necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Service Provider, its users, or the public
Data Retention
- User-provided data is retained for the duration of your use of the Application plus 12 months thereafter, unless longer retention is required by law
- Automatically collected data is retained for up to 24 months from collection
- Advertising measurement data processed by Meta is retained according to Meta's policies
- Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely
